Joan Elizabeth (Light) Rizzardi, 86 years young, of Mount Airy, Maryland departed for the heavens on Saturday April 25, 2020. She is now together again with her beloved husband C. Mario Rizzardi, a WW II Navy Veteran who left us in 2015.
Joan was born August 27, 1933 in Reading PA into a family of 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Joan and Mario were married on June 27, 1953 at St Peter's in Reading PA. They were married for 62 years, and they were the proud parents of their 3 children; Mark RIzzardi (Reading, PA), Mary Murray and husband John, with whom she resided, (Mount Airy, MD), and Lisa Dennis and husband Steve (Wyomissing, PA).
Joan cherished her 4 grandchildren and her 2 great grand babies. Granddaughter Amy Rizzardi of Reading PA. Granddaughter Angelina and great grand baby Celine of Raleigh NC. Grandson Christopher and wife Amanda with great grand baby Evelyn of Pataskala, OH, Grandson Jonathan Rizzardi of Seattle WA.
Joan suffered from chronic COPD but was UNABLE to survive after contacting the COVID 19 Virus.
Joan will be interred with her beloved Mario at Forest Hills Memorial Park Reading, PA on Friday May 1, 2020. In the COVID19 era there are no viewings, no church services, No Flowers allowed. A short family graveside service will occur that is limited to 9 persons including the priest and funeral staff.
What Nanny and Pop would prefer: Please no cards or flowers, just love the ones you care about and be kind to your neighbors.
