He was raised in Roxbury and was a graduate of Boston Technical High School. Al joined the Air Force in 1952. He was stationed in Weisbaden, Germany where he met his first wife Anna Wecker.
After being honorably discharged from the military, Al and Anna moved to Brockton.
Al worked as a meat cutter and shop steward at Pearl Meat Packaging Company in Boston until his retirement. Once retired he enjoyed reading, walking and taking care of his animals. He was a big supporter of Veteran's causes. Al spoke fluent Italian and German and enjoyed his visits with his German relatives. He loved to sing Italian and German songs and enjoyed holiday gatherings with his family. Al's first wife Anna died in 1998. He later married Norma Woomer of Brockton and became a step-father to 6 children, agrandfather of 16 and a great-grandfather of 1.
Al was the beloved husband of Norma Faenza, husband of the late Anna (Wecker) Faenza, loving step-father of Steven Woomer of East Bridgewater, Julie Nihan of Hanson, Cynthia Woodford of Brockton, June Burge of Mansfield, Lisa Jouett of Ballinger, TX and Suzanne Plaisted of Plymouth, brother to Matthew Faenza of Warren, MI, Angie Pope of Dallas, TX, Elizabeth Bonfanti of Pittsboro, NC and Ida Goff of Hudson, NY, he was an uncle to many nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to calling hours Tuesday 5-8 P.M. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton, Funeral Wednesday at 10 A.M. in Belcher Chapel at Waitt Funeral Home and burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:30 P.M.
