Also in the home is Julia's brother, Romeo Maritta (should be Maietta), construction laborer, 30. Matteo, Julia and Romeo and their parents were born in Italy. 5. Obituary: Patriot-Ledger on 5 Nov 1957 in Quincy, Norfolk, MA, United States. 7 Matteo Cordone, 66, of 74 Canal Street, Quincy, passed away unexpectedly yesterday at Quincy City Hospital after a heart attack.
A native of Italy, Mr. Cordone had lived in Quincy for 45 years and was employed at Fore River Shipyard as a pipe coverer. He was financial secretary of the Quincy Roma Intangibile Lodge, Sons of Italy; past venerable of the lodge; and a member of the John Quincy Adams Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia (Maietta) Cordone; five daughters, A1C Norma Cordone stationed in Germany, Mrs. Grace Spada of East Weymouth, Mrs. Eleanor Del Vecchio of Quincy, Mrs. Ida Kelly of Plainfield, N.J., and Mrs. Mary Ann Belliveau of Quincy; two sons, Matthew Jr. of Quincy and Anthony, who is the announcer for the Sunday Italian Hour on WJDA; eight grandchildren; and three brothers, Michael, Louis, and John, all of Italy.
The funeral will leave the Vincent Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy, Friday at 8:15 o'clock. Burial will be in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.

A high mass of requiem was celebrated yesterday in St. John's Church, Quincy, for Mr. Cordone. The Rev. Stephen Moran was celebrant with the Rev. Leo McCann, deacon and the Rev. Thomas Moriarty, subdeacon. Mrs. Mary Daley was organist and Mrs. Rena Costello, soloist. Bearers were Larry Scarnici, Anthony Bruce, Frank LaRosa, Joseph Santagata, Matthew Iuili and Sebastian Papagno. The funeral left the Vincent Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street.
