SUNBURY The funeral for Ralph O. "Johnnie" Herrold, 79, of 1102 Susquehanna Ave., will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Zweier Funeral Home, Sunbury, by the Rev. John H. Bixler, pastor of the Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Shamokin. Burial will be in West Side Cemetery, Shamokin Dam. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening.
Mr. Herrold, who died Monday in the Sunbury Community Hospital, had been a patient in the hospital since July 12.
He was formerly employed as a yardman at the roundhouse in the Northumberland yards of the Pennsylvania Railroad, retiring in 1963 with 37 years of service.
He was a life member of the Sunbury Social Club and a life member of the Rescue Hose Company, Sunbury.
Born in Sunbury, April 1, 1898, he was a son of the late John W. and Lillian M. Hoffman Herrold.
His wife, the former Helen M. Quick, died in 1967.
Survivors are four children, Mrs. Louise Bucher of Sunbury, Lew K. Herrold and John Herrold, both of Middletown, and Mrs. Nancy Forsythe of Williamsburg. Pa; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Ralph married Helen Mary Krick. (Helen Mary Krick was born on 14 Feb 1899 in Limestone Township, Union County, Pennsylvania, USA,⁴ died on 29 Apr 1967 in Sunbury, Northumberland, PA ⁴ and was buried in Shamokin Dam, Snyder, PA ⁴.)
