A white sports utility vehicle crashed along the 400 block of Blue Springs Road on Wednesday, causing the driver to become trapped. Deputy Tim Matthews of the Carter County Sheriff's Department said Aaron Patton was driving the vehicle and lost control. The vehicle went airborne, struck a pole, flipped over and landed on its top. A passenger, Myra Goodyear, was also in the vehicle. Patton was ejected and trapped. He was taken to the Johnson City Medical Center for treatment. Goodyear was not injured. Matthews said Patton and Goodyear were not wearing a seat belt.

olice said she filed a report Sept. 19 claiming a vehicle had been stolen from her residence. The investigation led police to believe the theft never occurred.
Goodyear was arrested Monday and later released from the Washington County Detention Center on $1,000 bond. She was due in court Tuesday.
