1. Obituary: Lebanon Daily News: obituary of Mrs. William Spong on 16 Jan 1971 in Lebanon, Lebanon, PA. ¹ Leah J. Spong, 84, of 40 S. Second St., Lewisburg, died Friday evening in the Evangelical Community Hospital there, following a long illness.
She was born in Lebnaon, a daughter of the late John and Ctherine Alliman Gilbert. She had resided with her daughter, Mrs. Pauline E. Lentz, in Lewisburg for the last 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Spong of Lebanon, who died in 1935.
She was formely a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Lebanon.
Surviving are, in addition to the daughter with whom she resided, another daughter Mildred, wife of Joseph Ferro, Woodside, N.Y., a grand-daughter, four nieces and a nephew.
She was precede din death by two sisters, Mrs. Charlotte Garrvell, Philadelphia, and Mrs. Virginia Eck, of Lebanon.
