Mother of Rev. S. J. Beeker, of Kannapolis, Passes Away at Her Davie County Home at the Age of 70 Years

Mrs. H. J. Beeker, aged 70 years, died this morning at 11:30 o'clock at the home of her son, Mr. W. A. Beeker, near Jerusalem, Davie county. the funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Baptist church at Jerusalem and will be conducted by the pastor, Rev. Wilson, and the interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Beeker was a devout Christian woman, the widow of the late Rev. S. A. Beeker, in his time a well known Baptist evangelist. She was a native of Davie county, being born and reared near Jerusalem, and in early life conducted herself with the church. She leaves three children, two sons and one daughter, these being Rev. S. J. Beeker, of Kannapolis, Mr. W. A. Beeker, a merchant of Davie county and at whose home she died, having made her home with him for some time, and Mrs. J. Frank Hoffman, of Granite Quarry. She had a large circle of friends and acquaintances and these will be pained to learn of her death.

Beeker, a noted Baptist preacher of Davie County, died at the home of her son, W. A. Beeker, at Jerusalem. She leaves two sons, Rev. S. J. Beeker of Kannapolis, and W. A. Beeker of Jerusalem, and one daughter, Mrs. J. Frank Hoffman of Granite Quarry, this county.


Eliza married Henry J. Beeker, son of Philip Beeker and Elizabeth Beula Shoultz, on 15 Aug 1865 in , Davie, NC, USA.1 (Henry J.
