BROWNS SUMMIT - Mr. Carl ``Buck' Stewart Beeker, Jr., 75, of 4910 Yanceyville Road died Aug. 23, 1997, at the Hospice Unit of Moses Cone Hospital.

Funeral will be held Tuesday, Aug. 26, 1997 at 2 p.m. at Forbis & Dick North Elm Street Funeral Chapel, with burial following in Lakeview Memorial Park.

Mr. Beeker was a native and lifelong resident of Guilford County. He was a retired Dock Foreman for Thurston Motor Lines, and a member of Northside Baptist Church. Mr. Beeker enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942 and served aboard the USS Jenkins and the USS Commencement Bay, he served in both the European and Pacific theaters during the Second World War. He was also a life member of the National Rifle Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl S. and Lydia R. Beeker, Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Clark Beeker of the home; sister-in-law, Dovie C. Shaver of Brown Summit and numerous nieces and nephews in the Greensboro and Brown Summit area.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
