5. Obituary: Davidson Funeral Home: obituary of Sarah Foster Beeker on 4 Jan 2020 in Lexington, Davidson, NC. 5 Sarah Foster Beeker ended her earthly journey on Saturday, January 4. She lived very close to one hundred years; a life not only long in years, but one filled with love, family, and faith. Sarah was a faithful and active member of Reeds United Methodist Church. When she could no longer attend, she continued to participate by sending her weekly offering and listening to the recorded worship service. Sarah is predeceased by her husband of sixty-eight years, Harold Walton Beeker. Sarah and Harold made quite a team, always working together and supporting each other. Family and friends hold fond memories of boating, and barbecues at High Rock Lake, and vacations and fishing trips to Kure Beach. To this day, the family has a tradition which Sarah continued from her mother. The tradition is having a family fun party with games/hotdogs/prizes following Christmas each year. Great grandchildren now enjoy this yearly event. Sarah was born to parents, Rossie Mae Foster Bailey and Stephen Foster on February 17, 1920 in Davie County, NC. She is predeceased by her siblings, Robert Tucker Foster, Eula Dean Koontz, and Bruce Lafayette Foster. She is survived by one son, Roger Walton Beeker (Myra); two grandsons, Walton Flynn Beeker (Joanna), and Foster Scoggin Beeker (Jennifer); and four great-grandchildren that will also hold her memory dear, Sarah Julia Beeker, Matthew Walton Beeker, Harold Jack Beeker, and Annie Emerson Beeker. Sarah enjoyed the friendship and benefitted from the excellent caregiving skills and devotion of Johnnie Pittman. Much more than neighbors, they shared a special bond. The entire family thanks you, Johnnie, for the difference you made in Sarah's life. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11am Wednesday, January 8 at Davidson Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at Reeds United Methodist Church Cemetery.
