Becker [sic, as indexed, but handwriting is Beeker], fitter in furniture factory, 22, living with wife Sarah L., 20; and son Roger W, 3 months. Everyone was born in North Carolina. In 1935, Harold was in Reeds, Davidson County, NC, and Sarah was in rural Davie County, NC. Also in their home in 1940 were three lodgers: Ula D. Foster, 18; Ione M. Pack, 21; and Veta R. Pack, 23, all working in a knitting mill.

2. Census in 1950 in Tyro, Davidson, NC. ⁷ The 1950 census recorded Elmo L. Beeker, no occupation, 61, with wife Alice M., 61. They also had 2 lodgers in their home: son-in-law David Tussy, carpenter, 28, and his wife Lola, 18, the Beeker's daughter.
Next door is Elmo's son: Harold Beeker, maintenance at dairy, 33, living with wife Sarah, 30, and son Roger, 10.
They were born in North Carolina.

The wedding of Miss Myra Louise Yow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Flynn Yow of Dick Street, and Roger Walton Beeker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Beeker of Lexington, was solemnized Saturday evening at 7 o'clock in the First Baptist Church here.
The Rev. Jack Chellew, minister of the church, officiated at the ceremony, and music was by Mrs. Donald Overman, vocalist, and Monty Busick, organist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white crepe made along simple lines with short sleeves and a modified A-line skirt. Her headpiece was a mantilla of Brussels lace ending in a chapel train, and she carried a bouquet of white roses.
Mrs. Randolph C. McLeod of Silver Springs, Md., was matron of honor for her sister, and Mrs. Paul Hepler of Wilkesboro was bridesmaid. Their gowns of Dutch iris lavender crepe were styled the same as the bride's, and they carried white fans with asters and contrasting ribbon streamers.
Mr. Beeker's father was his best man, and ushers were Charles Ronald Yow of Gibsonville, Randolph C. McLeon of Silver Springs, Md., Wesley Max Walser of Fayetteville, David Homer Craver of Lexington.
Mrs. W. Cauzell Yow directed the wedding.
Following a wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Beeker will be at home at 1117 Sandusky Drive. Lynchburg, Va., after August 5.
The bride is a graduate of Gibsonville High School and attended Gardner Webb Junior College. She was graduated form Appalachian State University in June with a B. A. degree in sociology.
Mr. Beeker is a graduate of Reeds High School, Lees-McRae Junior College Appalachian State Teacher's College. He taught at Smith High School in Greensboro for one year, served in Alaska with the U.S. Army, and returned to Appalachian State University and received his Master's degree in industrial arts. For the past year he has taught at Appalachian, and on August 5 will join the faculty of Central Virginia Community College at Lynchburg.

I would like to hear from any Beeker out there. I was born in Fork, North Carolina and lived my early years (2-18) in Reeds (5 miles west of Lexington). I have been in Va. since 1968. I would like to trace my family back to Germany if possible. So, I am looking for contacts that may be part of our family.
