Funeral services were held from the First Baptist Church of Eutaw at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon for Fred Robert Beeker, Sr., 70, who died at the residence Friday night. Mr. Beeker was a planner mill foreman and a barber. A native of Millbridge, N. C, he had lived in Eutaw for the past 50 years. The Rev. George Abrams officiated at the funeral. Burial was in the Mesopotamia Cemetery, Jones and Spigener in charge. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. W. E. Elliott, and Mrs. S. K. Brannon of Eutaw; three sons, A. R. Beeker of Bessemer, Chris Beeker of Eutaw, and John S. Beeker of Birmingham; a brother, J. T. Beeker of Winfield; two sisters, Mrs. T. J. Parson of Bessemer and Mrs. C. E. Howard of Montgomery; and 16 grandchildren. The body lay in state at the church from 2 p.m. until time of services. Active pallbearers were Robert Lee Henderson, Charles R. Henderson, Carl Furr, Horace Richardson, John W. Herndon, and T. E. Fowler. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of the Eutaw Baptist Church.

Fred married Christine Laverne Reed, daughter of Amos William Reed and Hattie Elizabeth Caldwell.
