Truitt, farmer, truck farm, 60, living with wife Mary E., packing in shirt factory, 52; daughter Annie C., stitcher in shirt factory, 14; and daughter-in-law Sarah R., packer in shirt factory, 20. Everyone and their parents were born in Maryland. Kendall and Mary were married for 30 years and she had birthed 4 children, 3 alive in 1910. Sarah was newly married less than a year and had no children.

2. Newspaper: The Evening Journal: Mrs. Truitt Granted Decrees at Divorce Hearings, 3 Feb 1925, Wilmington, New Castle, DE. 7 The divorce case of Mrs. Sarah R. Truitt, of Lewes, against her husband. George Handy Truitt, was heard. The cause for the action was desertion and non-support. Mrs, Truitt testified that she lived In Salisbury, Md. at the time of the desertion, which took place In August, 1920. A few days after she moved to Lewes, this county, where she has since resided with her sister. The court reserved decision in the case until her attorney, Andrew J. Lynch, produced another witness to prove the time they have been separated.

MILLSBORO -- Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah P. Joseph, 79, who died Monday in St. Francis Hospital, Wilmington, will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the James Funeral Home here.
The Rev. J. G. Rimmer of the Calvary Wesleyan Church in Gumboro will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Delmar.
Mrs. Joseph, wife of the late Alvin D. Joseph, was born in Sussex County. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Brittingham.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Iris Eskridge, Mrs. Mildred V. Williams and Mrs. Katherine Wright, all of Wilmington, seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one -great-great grandchild; a brother, Elijah Brittingham, Delmar, and two sisters, Mrs. Virgie Parker and Mrs. Elizabeth Parker, both of Salisbury.

Sarah married George Henry Truitt, son of Kendall Handy Truitt and Mary Ellen Givans. (George Henry Truitt was born on 22 Jul 1883 in Parsonsburg, Wicomico, MD, USA,8 9 died on 20 Oct 1951 in Salisbury, Wicomico, MD 9 10 and was buried on 23 Oct 1951 in Parsonsburg: Jerusalem United Methodist Church, Wicomico, MD, USA 9 10.)


Sarah next married Alvin DeWitt Joseph. (Alvin DeWitt Joseph was born on 7 Apr 1896 in Lewes, Sussex, DE,11 12 13 died on 3 Dec 1959 in Georgetown, Sussex, DE 12 13 and was buried in Delmar: Saint Stephens Cemetery, Sussex, DE, USA 13.)
