Mrs. Katherine E. "Kitty" Wright, age 92, of Odessa, DE, died on Monday, January 29, 2007, at her home. Born in Carneys Point, NJ, on July 13, 1914, Mrs. Wright was a daughter of the late George Truitt and Sarah Joseph Truitt. She was a gifted homemaker and was also employed in sales with the House of Watches in Wilmington for 17 years until 1967. A longtime member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Odessa, she volunteered for many years at the Delaware Home for the Chronically 111 in Smyrna. Mrs. Wright was devoted to animals throughout her life and donated her time and resources to many local animal shelters. An avid crossword puzzle fan, she also enjoyed sewing, flower gardening and playing the organ. Her beloved husband of 64 years, Oliver David Wright died in 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ann Wright, of Odessa; sister, Iris Eskridge, of Odessa; many dear nieces and nephews; her housekeeper and friend Ko-mara "Zee" Zenebu; and her St. Paul's Church familv, including The Reverend Karin G. Tunnell. A funeral service will be held at 11 am, on Friday, February 2, 2007, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 406 Main Street, Odessa, where friends may call after 10 am. A reception will follow the service in the church hall. The interment will be held at 2:30 pm at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, PO Box 253, Odessa, DE 19730; or to Delaware Humane Association.
