Miss Beeker, Mr. Hauser Are Married
LEXINGTON, N. C., March 7 - Miss Lela Mae Becker, daughter of Mrs. Gilford Becker of Lexington, Rt. 8, and the late Mr. Beeker, became the bride of Fred Hauser, son of Mrs. Frances Hauser of Tobaccooville and the late Ellis Hauser, in a ceremony March 1 at 4 p. m. at Welcome Baptist Church, Welcome. Rev. O. M. Hartman, pastor of the bride, officiated. Prior to the ceremony a musical program was presented by Mrs. Eugene Essick, organist, and Bill Whitesides, vocal soloist. The bride was given in marriage by her cousin, Boyd Beeker. She wore a blue wool crepe suit with navy accessories. She carried a prayer book on which was pinned a white orchid. Miss Betty Hauser, sister of the bridegroom, was her maid of honor and only attendant. Clyde E. Hauser of King attended his brother as best man, and ushers were Billy Hendrix and Rex Bowen, cousins of the bridegroom. Following the ceremony the couple remained to the vestibule the church to receive the good wishes of the wedding guests and then left by car for a wedding trip. Mrs. Hauser is a graduate of Welcome High School and of Appalachian State Teachers College. She is now a member of the Reeds High School faculty. Mr. Hauser is a graduate of Old Richmond High School and will receive his degree in business education from Appalachian State Teachers College in May.
