LEXINGTON, March 13 -- Albert Erastus (Rass) Beeker, 82, retired farmer of the Welcome community died today. He was born in Rowan County. He was a member of the Welcome Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harvey Miller of Salisbury and Miss Beulah Beeker of the home; three sons, George Beeker of Raleigh, Preston Beeker of Winston-Salem and Harvey Beeker of Route 8, Lexington; one brother, Oscar Beeker of Albemarle; two sisters, Mrs. Garland Campbell of Sanford and Mrs. Prince Parrish of Aberdeen; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Welcome Baptist Church with the Rev. Oscar Hartman and the Rev. C. E. Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Albert Erastus Beeker was born 10 Apr 1875 in Rowan Co. to Dan and Lundy Cornelison Beeker, married Jennie Lou Leonard (1873-1949), daughter of Preston Lee and Julia McCrary Leonard. They lived on a farm on Center Church Road in the Welcome Community. They were members of Welcome Baptist Church and buried in the Welcome Baptist Church Cemetery.
The first of their 6 children was Gilford Willie Beeker, born 30 Oct 1894, died 3 Jan 1951, buried in Welcome Baptist Church Cemetery, married Dora Hinkle. They had two daughters: Sarah Ann (died in infancy) and Lela Mae.
A daughter, Ida Suzanne, born 7 May 1897, married Harvey Horatio Miller. They live in Salisbury. They had three children: Juanita, Ned (died while serving in the U.S. Army), and Harvey Jr.
Preston Lee, born 7 Jan 1901, died 12 May 1976, buried in Winston-Salem, married Lela Fulk (now deceased) and they had two daughters: Kaye Frances and Linda.
Harvey Pierce, born 1 May 1903, married Mae Greene. They live on Center Church Road in Welcome. They had six children: Imojean, Boyd, Anne, Martha, Bill and Cynthia.
George Albert was born 11 May 1907, married Lyda Beck (now deceased). They had six children: Janet, Sylvia, Beck, Lloyd, Cecilia and George, Jr. Cecilia died in childhood; George, Jr. died while serving in the U.S. Navy. George Albert later married Rose Forte, and they live in Lexington.
Beulah Beatrice, born 21 Jun 1910, lives at N.C. Baptist Home in Albemarle.
The homeplace of "Rass" and Jennie Beeker is presently owned by a grandson, Boyd Beeker, and his wife, Jo Ann. They live there with their four children: Walter, William, Vann and Adelaide.
