She was preceded in death by her parents, James C. Cooley and Adeline Cooley; a brother, Charles Cooley; a sister, Mary Broussard; and her late husband, Ellis Pearson. She is survived by her loving husband of thirteen years, Roderick R. Beecher of Gulfport; her children, James Pearson and Mary Beth Vierling (James), of Gulfport, Lori Bentley (Mike) of Franklin, TN, Jeffery Pearson (Sue) of Gulfport, Teresa Powell (Howard) of Woolmarket, Shawn Westbrook (Michael) of Catula, GA, and Bryan Beecher (Pam) of Ocean Springs; a brother, James C. Cooley, Jr (Hazel) of Florence, MS; three sisters, Evelyn Heck (Joe) of Darlington, SC, Edith Cooley of Bradford, PA, and Audrey Morgan (Jimmy) of Waveland; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a seamstress for forty-seven years, and was a member of the Star Twirlers Squaredancing Club, in Gulfport, where she met her husband, Roderick. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Memorials may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 366 Cowan Rd, Gulfport, MS 39507. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport, with a visitation from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
