She was born June 6, 1930 in Pottsville a daughter of the late Harold and Carolyn Beacher Callaway.
She was a 1949 graduate of Pottsville High School and the former Ford School of Business.
Prior to retiring Jeanette was worked for the Schuylkill County Historical Society, Pottsville Republican, former Richie's Sub Shop and former Wearever Pen and Pencil and was also a crossing guard. She was notably known by many for working are her families store, the former Callaway Family Market on Race St.
Jeanette was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville as was the church's Circle 5, Craft Class, Ding-A-Ling Bell Choir, Senior Exercise and Senior Travelers.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Francis Thomas Bower, her second husband Rev. Harold R. Rodland; 2 sisters, Doris Callaway and Grace Schuettler; a brother Gerald Callaway.
Surviving are her son, Lynn Bower and his wife Rhonda, Tamaqua; a daughter, Debra Bachert and her husband Harold, Jr., Schuylkill Haven; a granddaughter Jen Whildin and her husband David; a great-granddaughter, Gabriella Whildin; a sister, Joyce Fidance; nieces and nephews.
Services were held privately from the James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Jeanette be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 W. Arch St., Pottsville, PA 17901.
