Miss Lenora I. Jones, former Rush county resident and an English teacher in the Philippines for 17 years, is a prisoner of the Japanese and interned at Camp Santo Thomas, Manila, V.I. This word, the first received from Miss Jones since the Japanese attack on the Philippines, was received by her sister, Mrs. Grace Jessup of 1213 North Morgan street. The information was forwarded to Mrs. Jessup by Howard F. Bresee, Lt. Col., C. M. P., chief of the information bureau of the provost marshal general's office, Washington. It was presumed that the information was cleared through the International Red Cross. Mrs. Jessup also was informed that she may communicate with her sister but could send no parcels. Instructions relative to such communication were contained in the notice. Miss Jones is well known in Rush county and extensively related. Besides Mrs. Jessup, she has a brother, Floyd Jones, living north of Rushville. She also has three other sisters, Miss Maude Jones of Bloomington, Mrs. Fern Sells of Knox and Miss Nellie Jones of Manitowoc, Wisc., and another brother, Curtis Jones of Chicago. Before being interned by the Japanese, Miss Jones was an English teacher in the Manila high school.

The remainder of the estate is to be shared by the three sisters plus other brother and sister who are Fern Sells, Floyd Jones, and Curtis Jones. Fern Sells was named executrix, with bond of $10,000.
