Sturm, 102, Alexandria, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Alexandria Care Center in Alexandria following an extended illness. He was bom on July 6, 1910 in Indianapolis, the son of F.X. Sturm, and Dora (Barthel) Sturm. He has resided in the Alexandria area since 1925. Willis served with the United States Air Force during World War II. He retired from Delco-Remy, formerly of Anderson, in 1974 after 16 years of employment. He also worked for the former Alexandria Lumber Company for 12 years. He was a member of St Mary's Church at Alexandria. He was also a former member of the Alexandria American Legion and the Alexandria Eagles Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Mae Beher Sturm, married 11 years; two step-sons, Tom (Nancy) Beher of Summitville and Dan (Linda) Beher of Elwood; his step-daughter, Marilyn Grande in Puerto Vallarta, Calif.; and his special nephew, Frank Sturm of Fishers and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Edith Roberts Sturm in 1995. Mass of Christian Burial took place at on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria with Father Dan Duff officiating. Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery at Gas City with military honors. Memorial contributions are suggested to Saint Mary's Church Building Fund. Care and service arrangements have been entrusted to Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria.
