Phoebe Burgett was born on November 28, 1833 in Tippecanoe County, Indiana, and died on February 12, 1900 in Milford, Iroquois County, Illinois. She married (1) John Laird on March 27, 1851 in Battle Ground, Tippecanoe County, Indiana, son of Samuel J. Laird and Delilah Albin. He was born on July 14, 1827 in Ohio, and died on September 30, 1874 in Iroquois County, Illinois. See Laird history. She married (2) William M. Bicher on February 1, 1883 in Iroquois County, son of John Bicher and Sarah E. Sands. He was born circa 1828 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She married (3) Joseph Nelson Cupp on February 20, 1894 in Iroquois County, son of Joseph (or Jasper) Cupp and Elender Lepter. He was born on March 28, 1833 in Franklin County, Indiana, and died on April 23, 1901 in Iroquois County, Illinois. (See Laird history). Joseph Cupp married twice before his marriage to Phoebe. In the 1900 Iroquois County census Joseph Cupp was listed in the County Poor Farm.

Also in the home is Perry Burget, 37. Everyone was born in Indiana except parents John and Catharine in Virginia.

3. Obituary: on 14 Feb 1900 in Watseka, Iroquois, IL. 4 Mrs. Phoebe Laird, daughter of John and Catharine Burgett, and widow of John Laird, was born in Tippecanoe County, Ind., Nov. 28, 1833. She was married to John Laird, March 27, 1851. In the spring of 1858 they removed to Iroquois county and settled in Milford. Only one child, the only son, Squire H. Laird, three sisters in Indiana, and one brother, John Burgett of Woodland, survives her. Her death came as a great shock to the community and especially to her grand-daughter, Erma, who was alone with her at the time. During the day she had been unusually well and lively. Death found her well prepared and willing to go, leaving a blessed memory behind. Mrs. Phoebe Laird died at her home in Milford, Monday Feb. 12, 1900, aged 66 years, 2 months and 14 days. Funeral services were held Wednesday the 14, with interment at Milford cemetery.

Beicher was born in 1828 in , Lancaster, PA,6 7 8 died on 28 May 1890 in Milford, Iroquois, IL 7 8 9 and was buried in Milford: Maple Grove Cemetery, Iroquois, IL 7.)
