Sperb announces the marriage of her sister, Miss Imogene Mathes, 1320 Ferry street, to Robert B. Beeker, son of Mrs. Pearl Beeker, 141 Sheetz street, West Lafayette. The double ring ceremony was read Saturday afternoon, Feb. 28, at 2 o'clock by Dr. B. D. Beck, of Trinity Methodist church, at the home of the groom's brother, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis E. Beeker, 1200 Esplanade avenue.
Pink tapers in crystal candelabra burning on the mantle enclosed by sweet peas of pastel shades arranged around the fire place, formed the setting before which the troth was pledged. The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Louis Sperb. Lewis E. Beeker attended his brother, the groom.
Following tne ceremony, a reception was held in the Beeker home. Mrs. M. L. Hackleman and Mrs. Ross N. Beeker, both sisters of the groom, served at a table covered with linen upon which pink tapers and pink carnations in low bowls were placed. The bride is employed at the Warren Paper Products company. After graduation from West Lafayette high school, the groom served three years in the Marine corps, spending 15 months in the Pacific theater. He is employed at the Brown Rubber company. After a few days in Chicago Mr. and Mrs. Beeker will reside at 1320 Ferry street.

Beeker on 12 Jan 2007 in Lafayette, Tippecanoe, IN. 3 Rose Imogene (Mathes) Beeker of Lafayette died on January 9, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Born August 14, 1927 in Lafayette to the late Willard and Maude Hathaway Mathes, she was a life long resident of Tippecanoe County.
She worked in film assembly at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 15 years before retiring. During WWII she worked at Warren Paper as a press operator.
She was a lifetime member of VFW Women's Auxiliary and enjoyed playing bingo.
Surviving are 2 sons Gerald Beeker (wife, Janet S.) and David Wayne Beeker both of Lafayette, a daughter, Janet Igo (husband, Michael) of Lafayette and a sister Francis Sperb (husband, Louis) of Lafayette.
Friends may call 1 hour prior to the 4 P.M. service Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Pastor Sue Spurlin officiating.
Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Brooke A. Richards (husband, Kevin), Bryan Beeker, and Paul Igo and 1 great grandchild, Jayden Ty Richards. Preceded in death by a brother.
