WASHINGTON, ind. -- Rita Beeker, 76, died at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday at Daviess County Hospital. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.
Surviving are two daughters, Frances Allen of St. Louis and Sandra Sowl of Speedway; five sons, Kenneth of Evansville, Melvin of London, Ky., Ray of Phoenix, Ariz. and Harry and Darrel, both of Columbus; three sisters, Virl Fry of Indiana, Minnie Barley of Washington and Juanita Stafford of Odon; two brothers, Porter Ainscough of Plainville and Harry Ainscough of Brookfield, Ill.; 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Christ United Methodist Church, with burial in Walnut Hill Cemetery at Odon. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Gill Chapel, where memorial services will be conducted at 6:30 p.m.

She was the mother of Harry and Darrel Beeker of Columbus. Funeral service was to have been conducted today by the Rev. Lyle Rasmussen and the Rev. William Patterson at Christ United Methodist Church at Washington. Burial was at Walnut Hill Cemetery at Oden. Funeral arrangements were made by Gill Funeral Home in Washington. Mrs. Beeker was born May 28, 1911, in Daviess County, the daughter of Thomas and Lillie Ritter Ainscough. She was married to Ora "Curley" Beeker on Jan. 3, 1931. He died March 18. Survivors include three other sons, Kenneth Beeker of Evansville, Melvin Beeker of London, Ky., and Ray Beeker of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Frances Allen of St. Louis, Mo., and Sandra Sowl of Speedway; three sisters, Virl Fry of Fritchton, Minnie Barley of Washington and Juanita Stafford of Oden; two brothers, Porter Ainscough of Plainville and Harry Ainscough of Brookfield, Ill., 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
