Mr. Wheat was born in Baltimore, MD and was the son of the late Charles E., Sr. and Ruth Adele Beeker Wheat. A retired electrician with General Motors, he was a member of the American Legion and had served in the United States Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Harr. Surviving are two daughters, Donna Jean Miller and husband David of Bel Air, MD and Elaine Schneider Bubela and husband Jim of Edenton; a son, Charles E. Wheat, III and wife Sharon of Glen Rock; a sister, Lurray Blatchford of Clariton, PA; a brother, Eugene R. Bailey of Newark, DE; four grandchildren, Rob Schneider, Christina Wheat, Charles E. Wheat, IV, and David Miller; and a great-grandchild, Camden Miller. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later time in Maryland.
