BROOKSTON, Nov. 18. (Special) -- Arthur B. Garrott, 74, former local business man and trucker, died at 1 a. m. today at his home here, two days after suffering a stroke. He was born south of Brookston, May 31, 1862, a son of John and Sarah (Russell) Garrott, and was married to Cora Sterrett, Nov. 21, 1893. At one time he operated a store here. He was a member of the M. E. church. Surviving are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Bennett, Lafayette, and Mrs. Melvin Yount, Brookston, and four grandchildren. The body was taken to the Cottrell funeral home, and will be returned to the residence Thursday noon, where friends may call after 3 p. m. The funeral will be held at the residence Friday at 1 p. m., with Rev. C. L. Harper, Lafayette, officiating; interment in Pretty Prairie cemetery.

Arthur married Cora Alice Sterrett, daughter of Joseph C.
