Census in 1880 in Tippecanoe Township, Tippecanoe, IN. ⁵ The 1880 census recorded Joseph Sterrett, farmer, 40, living with wife Orlena, 32; son Clinton E., 13; daughter Docia M. 12; daughter Cora A., 11; son Simmon J., 7; daughter Osa A., 5; son Oda L., 5; son Carlie, 2; and daughter Macy, 7 months. Everyone and their parents were born in Indiana.

BROOKSTON, Aug. 17 -- Mrs. Cora Garrott, 79, widow of Arthur Garrott, died at 2 a.m. Wednesday in St. Elizabeth hospital, Lafayette, after a short illness. She was born near Pretty Prairie and was married in 1894 to Arthur Garrott. She was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Bennett, of Lafayette, and Mrs. Ruth Yount, of Brookston, one sister, Mrs. Macy Collier, of Lafayette, and two brothers, Kiley Sterrett, of Lafayette, and Sumner Sterrett, of Battle Ground.

Cora married Arthur B. Garrott on 21 Nov 1893.¹ (Arthur B. Garrott was born on 31 May 1862 in , White, IN,^{1 6} died on 18 Nov 1936 in Brookston, White, IN ^{1 6} and was buried on 20 Nov 1936 in Battle Ground: Pretty Prairie Cemetery, Tippecanoe, IN ^{1 6}.)
