Alfred W. Smith Is Dead; Burial Here
Alfred W. Smith, husband of the former Grace Slocum, of West Lafayette, died Tuesday at the family home 6229 Stewart avenue, Chicago, and the body is to be brought to Lafayette Thursday for burial in Spring Vale cemetery. A funeral service was scheduled for Wednesday evening at a chapel at Sixty-third street and Harvard avenue and the body will arrive here on the Monon railroad; at 12:28 Thursday noon. It will be taken directly to the cemetery where the Rev. Edward Ainslee will conduct the burial service. Besides his widow, a daughter of the late Leroy C. Slocum, Mr. Smith leaves a brother. William.
