Census in 1870 in Bern Twp., Berks, PA. 3 The 1870 census recorded Jacob Beechard [sic], farm laborer, 56, living in the household of Daniel Edinger, farmer, 35; Sarah Edinger, keeping house, 46; James Edinger, 11. Also in the home is another farm laborer, John Dreibelbis, 28. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. Daniel's farm was large, valued at $10,000. 2. Census in 1900 in Centre Twp., Berks County, PA. 1 The 1900 census recorded owning a home: Margaret Beecher, single, housekeeper, 71, born Oct 1829, living with brother Jacob Beecher, single, boarder, 85, born Aug 1814, and a servant, Zeth Dreibelbeir, farm laborer, 57, born Jan 1843. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania. 3. Obituary: Reading Eagle: Death of Jacob Beechert on 7 Apr 1902 in Reading, Berks, Pennsylvania, USA. 2 Centreport: Jacob Beechert died on Sunday morning at 8.30 o'clock, of general debility, aged 86 years. Deceased was living with his sister, Margaret Beechert, in Centre township, for a number of years. He was partly paralyzed and could not walk for a number of years and spent his time in a rocking chair. Funeral on Thursday, April 10, at 9 o'clock, from the house of his sister, Margaret Beechert. Internment in Bellman's church cemetery. Rev. D. G. Gerberich officiating. Undertaker J. D. Naftzinger. |
