3. Obituary: Osborne County Farmer: obituary of Wm. Presnell on 13 Aug 1914 in Osborne, Osborne, KS. 4 Wm. Presnell, a barber employed in Frank Paget's shop, died suddenly last Saturday afternoon at 2:30 'o'clock. Presnell had not worked the previous day on account of not feeling well, but he was not confined to his bed. Saturday morning he was down town, but about noon he began to sink rapidly and soon passed away. Death is supposed to have been due to internal hemorrhages. The funeral was held Monday from the Hammond chapel near Portis and interment was made in the Hammond cemetery. Rev. Bates of. Osborne and Rev. King of Portis conducted the services. Deceased was 32 years of age and leaves a wife and five children. The oldest child is 12 and the youngest about a year old. It is a very unfortunate case, the widow being left in destitute circumstances. Kind hearted friends here did all they could for the bereaved family and at Portis a collection of over one hundred dollars was taken up for them. Presnell had been here for about a year and had conducted himself in an exemplary manner. He was a member of the band and orchestra. The family will continue to make their home here.

4. Obituary: Portis Independent: obituary of Will Presnell on 13 Aug 1914 in Portis, Osborne, KS. 1 Death Again Calls 3 in 3 Weeks

Will Presnell of Osborne, next to the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Presnell of the city, and who was one of Osborne's best barbers, died suddenly Saturday afternoon as the result of a burst of a blood vessel in the stomach.

A short funeral service was held at the home in Osborne Monday morning and the remains were then brought to the Hammond Chapel, west of here, and services conducted by Rev. J. W. Bates, Methodist minister of Osborne City. Interment was made in the Hammond cemetery near two other new graves.

Will Presnell was born December 25th, 1878 and died August 8th, 1914 being 32 years of age. He was married in 1901 to Miss Eva Pruitt and to this union was born five children. Besides the wife and children of Osborne and the parents in this city, he leaves three brothers and one sister, Frank and Guy of Portis, Jerry of Beloit and Stella Hansen of Glen Elder.

It was only three issues back this paper had in it an obituary of Mrs. George Presnell. Then the week following came that of her husband and this week of his brother. When we heard of the latter's death Saturday afternoon, following so closely the two of them a few days before, we had to stop and wonder \endash who will be the next? Again, we can only say, be prepared for The Judgment.

Tho the family, as well as the rest of the relatives, have our sympathy, somehow, in this time of affliction, it is the aged parents we think of most and especially the mother as (it is they who seem to feel the deeper) for she has lost two of her boys. And if it wasn't for her trust in God she said she could hardly stand it. It is in times like this that we turn to the Great Comforter.

Those who stopped over here for the funeral were Miss Ina Pruitt of Colorado, sister-in-law of the deceased, Mrs. Crawford and Mrs. Fletcher of Glen Elder, the former a cousin and the latter an aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Emery Presnell of Nebraska, the former being the youngest brother of W. S. Presnell of this city, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Presnell of Beloit and Mrs. Stella Hansen of Glen Elder.

William married Eva Mae Pruitt, daughter of Randolph F. Pruitt and Frances Emmaline Dukes, on 15 Aug 1901.1 (Eva Mae Pruitt was born on 21 Nov 1877 in Solomon Rapids, Mitchell, KS,5 died on 8 Feb 1932 in Portis, Osborne, KS 5 and was buried in Harlan, Smith, KS 5.)
