Israel Jacobs
Israel Jacobs, aged 86 years, one of the oldest residents of Jackson township, died at his home near Farmers post office, at 6 o'click last evening. Death was due to infirmities of old age. His funeral will be held next Tuesday at 10 a. m. at the Pigeon Hill Reformed church, the Rev. O. P. Schellhamer, this city, officiating.

After two months illness, due to a complication of diseases, Israel Jacobs died at his residence, near Farmers, on Friday evening, at 6 o'clock. The deceased was in his eighty-seventh year. He is survived by his widow, seven children, as follows: Mrs. John Strawsbuagh, near Swartz's school house; Mrs. Frank Sipel, York; Mrs. Edgar Finefrock, Farmers, Paradise township, with whom he lived; John Jacobs, near Spring Grove; Abraham Jacobs of Thomasville; Henry Jacobs, of Baltimore, and George Thomas, of York. A brother, Samuel Jacobs, of Hanover, and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Leppo, of York, also survives. Funeral Tuesday morning from the late residence at 10 a. m. Further services will be held at Roths church, Paradise township, Rev. O. P. Schellhamer, of York, conducting the services.

11. Newspaper: The Gazette: Israel Jacobs' Funeral, 14 Sep 1910, York, York, PA. 13 The funeral of Israel Jacobs, of LaBott, was held yesterday morning from the Pigeon Hill church, Rev. O. P. Schellhammer, of York, officiating. The pallbearers were Samuel Fissel, Milton Shaeffer, Edward Miller and Jacob Menges. Interment was made in the church cemetery. The deceased was eighty-six years old, and died last Friday evening from the infirmities of old age.


Israel married Elizabeth Schrum, daughter of Unknown and Mary Schrum. (Elizabeth Schrum was born on 10 Aug 1825 in , , Pennsylvania, USA,14 died on 12 Aug 1882 in Spring Grove, York, PA 14 and was buried in Spring Grove: Trinity Roths United Church of Christ Cemetery, York, PA 14.)
