NORTH VERNON - Funeral service for Frank S. Johnson, 64, of Route 6 will be conducted by the Rev. David Rome at 2 p.m. Sunday at Dove and Sharp Funeral Home here where persons may call until 9 o'clock tonight. Burial and military graveside rites will be conducted at Dupont Cemetery. Johnson died Wednesday at his home. He was born in Jennings County Feb. 5, 1916, the son of Samuel and Josephine Shepherd Johnson. He worked 43 years for International Operating Engineers of America and was a member of North Vernon Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife, Olive Hershey Johnson; a stepdaughter, Nelda Alving of Anaheim, Calif.; two brothers, Fred Johnson of Route 6 and John Johnson of Columbus; two sisters, Helen Hoffman of Vernon and Mary Knox of Madison route 6, and a grandson.

Frank married Olive Dissenger Hershey, daughter of Wilford Oliver Hershey and Lillian Wertz Dissinger. (Olive Dissenger Hershey was born on 13 Oct 1904 in Landisville, Lancaster, PA, USA,^{3 4 5} died on 19 Mar 1985 in Lompoc, Santa Barbara, CA, USA ^{4 5 6} and was buried on 23 Mar 1985 in Dupont, Jefferson, IN, USA ^{5 6}.)
