She was the wife of the late Sterling L. Smith. She was born in Ephrata on April 18, 1924 a daughter of the late Samuel and Mabel Rollman Frederick. Betty was a sewing machine operator for 48 years and a member of the Myerstown Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed sewing and making clothing for her family members. She is survived by children, Glenn Smith of Elmer, PA; Sue wife of Roy Derr of Schaefferstown; grandsons, Kyle husband of Jessica Derr and Eric husband of Tina Derr; great granddaughter, Alyssa Derr; sister, Muriel Hurst of Lebanon. She was preceded in death by a son, Stephan Derr and eleven brothers and sisters. Funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
