1. Obituary: Cecil Whig: obituary of Mrs. Elizabeth Rambo on 8 May 1880 in Elkton, Cecil, MD. ² Mrs. Elizabeth Rambo, wife of Jacob Rambo, Esq., died, at her residence in this town, on Wednesday morning, after an illness of a week of typhoid pneumonia, in the 47th year of her age. She was the eldest daughter of the late John A. Johnson, who for many years was extensively engaged in the lumber business in this town, and a niece of Caleb Johnson, Esq., editor and proprietor of the Wilmington Gazette. Mrs. Rambo was a native of this town, in which her whole life was spent. For upwards of twenty years she was an exemplary member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and by her conduct and deportment in every relation of life, has left an example worthy of imitation. The unexpected death of this affectionate wife and mother is another exemplication of the truth of the assertion that, "In the midst of life we are in death." Her funeral will take place this afternoon, at 2 1/2 o'clock.
