Newspaper: Cecil Whig: obituary of Jacob Rambo, 5 Nov 1910, Elkton, Cecil, MD. ¹ Jacob Rambo, one of Elkton's oldest residents, died on Monday, at the home of his son, Andrew, with whom he of late resided, of a complication of diseases, aged 84 years. He came to Elkton from Pennsylvania in early manhood and being a skilled carpenter later became a prominent builder, and erected many residences and other structures in the town and neighborhood. Failing eyesight, about ten years ago, compelled his retirement. He was twice married. His first wife was Miss Elizabeth Johnson, daughter of the late John A. Johnson, and sister of Mrs. C. V. Howard. Six of her children, two of whom Arthur M. and Andrew, reside in Elkton, survive him. His second wife was Mrs. Mary Hinson Yates, who survives him with three children. His funeral was held on Thursday, with services in Elkton M. E. Church, which he erected fifty years ago, and interment in Elkton Cemetery.
