Joyce was born on April 13, 1928, in Kentucky to the late Edward Walton and Bertha (Cain) Hensley.

On July 3, 1945 she married Gordon Farmer and he passed away on April 17, 2004. She was a member of First General Baptist Church of Fairmount. Joyce enjoyed and loved spending time with her family.

Joyce is survived by her four daughters, Brenda (Dennis) Reed of Marion, Janie (Jack) Jamison of Rigdon, Penny (Jim) Borum of Frankton, and Pam (Paul) James of Leisure, one son, Larry (Ann) Farmer of Muncie, three sisters, Elsie Castor of Kokomo, Deloris Adams of KY, and Brenda McKinney of GA, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren.
Joyce was preceded in death by her father, Edward Walton, mother, Bertha Hensley, and her husband, Gordon Farmer.

A celebration of life funeral service will be at 1 PM , Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Dunnichay Funeral Home with Rev. Leo Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Knox Chapel Cemetery north of Elwood.
