Obituary: Valley Spirit: obituary of Jeremiah Whorley on 10 Mar 1909 in Chambersburg, Franklin, PA. 2 Jeremiah Whorley died at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Wilson, Carlisle. Death was due to a stroke of paralysis sustained about two weeks ago, combined with the Infirmities of age. He was a native of Maryland and has been a resident of Carlisle since he was a young man. He was a veteran of the Civil War. Those who survive are four daughters: Mrs. Joseph Rinehart, Mrs. John Wilson, Mrs. John Hunt and Mrs. Lawrence Sailor, all of Carlisle; three sons, George and Samuel, of Carlisle, and William, of Chambersburg. One brother, Jacob Whorley, of Carlisle, and one sister, Mrs. Harriet Newcomer, of Carlisle. The funeral was held on Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Interment will be made in the old graveyard.
