1. Census in 1900 in Carlisle, Cumberland, PA. ⁵ The 1900 census recorded Jacob Whorley, widowed, fence builder, 73, born Jul 1826, living as a boarder in the home of Jan Hullinger, widowed, 48, Aug 1851. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania except Jacob's mother in Germany.

2. Obituary: Carlisle Evening Herald: obituary of Jacob Whorley on 12 Apr 1913 in Carlisle, Cumberland, PA. ⁶ Jacob Whorley Dies
Last evening about 4 o'clock Jacob Whorley, an aged resident of the town, passed away at the county home, at the age of 85, after about a month's residence in that institution. His death was due to the infirmities of old ape. He is survived by one daughter also an inmate of the home and his wife who resides in town. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
