4. Obituary: News Journal: obituary of Lily M. Vandergrift on 1 May 2005 in Wilmington, New Castle, DE. ⁴ Lily M. Vandergrift (Marshall) Age 79 of the Antonian Apts., passed away on Friday, April 29, 2005, in the St. Francis Hospital. Mrs. Vandergrift had retired from the St. Francis Hospital. She was a volunteer with the Sunshine Committee at the Antonian and enjoyed playing bingo at the Millcreek Fire Co. She was the wife of the late Andrew Vandergrift; daughter of the late George and Margaret Marshall; and sister of the late Anna Poore and William Marshall. She is survived by her brothers, Richard, James and Charles Marshall, all of Wilmington, DE; her sisters, Jane Shinn and Ruth Puglisi, both of Wilmington, DE and Margaret Pepe and Dorothy Marshall, both of Las Vegas, NV; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Berea Presbyterian Church of Hockessin, 957 Old Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, on Thursday, May 5th, at 11 am, where friends may call after 10 am. The interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Helen Graham Cancer Center, 4735 Ogletown-Stanton Road, Newark, DE 19713.
