Hill, 56, died at 10:45 a.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. He had been in ill health for several months and was hospitalized July 22. Mr. Hill was born in Greencastle but lived in White County most of his life. He was elected county auditor in 1969 and also was a member of the Reynolds town board. He operated the Standard Service Station at Reynolds for 13 years before entering the real estate business. He developed Hill addition in Reynolds. Mr. Hill worked for Vogel Real Estate at Monticello, in 1968-69 and for the Davis Insurance Co., Reynolds. He was Honey Creek Township trustee for two terms. He was married in 1939 to Dorothy Hornbeck, who survives. Mr. Hill was a member of the Reynolds United Methodist Church, the Indianapolis Scottish Rite, Monticello Masonic Lodge, Chalmers American Legion, White County Board of Realtors and the Indiana County Auditor's Association. , He served in the Navy during World War II. Survivng with the wife are two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Garcia, Villa Park, Ill., and Mrs. Cheryl Belmont, Houston, Texas; his father, R. D. Hill of Frankfort; two brothers, J. A. Hill Poplar Bluffs, Mo., and William H. Hill of Pagoso Springs, Colo, and three sisters, Mrs. Ester Clouster, Peoria, Ill., Mrs. Eleanor Mitchel, Frankfort and Mrs. Saranna Laughner, New Braunfels, Tex.
