  Noted events in his life were:

1. Census in 1850 in S. Lebanon Twp., Lebanon, PA. ⁷ The 1850 South Lebanon Census lists a number of Bucher families, some living in close proximity.

On page 81 we first find Henry Bucher, age 52, farmer, real estate valued at $7000, living with wife Elizabeth, 45; Mary Ann, 20; Catherine, 18; Benedict, 16, farmer; Levina, 16; and Henry,14. All were born in Pennsylvania. Henry's neighbor preceding him is Peter Smith, 49, with his wife Margaret, 42, but the following neighbor is another Bucher.

On page 81 next is John Bucher, 67, occupation "none", real estate valued at $2500, living with a probable son, Ezra, 32, farmer, real estate valued at $2500. With him is Elizabeth, 35; John H., 10; Cyrus, 5; Christian S., 11 months old when the census was recorded on 8 Aug 1850. Also with them are others who aren't Bucher: George Schron, 21, laborer; Lidia Zellar, 16; and Catherine Zellar, 9. Everyone is born in Pennsylvania.

The next household is George Yeagley, weaver, 48, wife Elizabeth, 46, and their family; followed by George Hefs, blacksmith, 27, wife Rebecca, 26; and their family. Also in that home was Joseph Dohner, 25, related to the Dohners who married several Buchers.

The next household is Michael Snyder, laborer, 45; wife Mary [nee Bucher, sister of Henry above], 45; and children Henry, 19; Susan 18; Mary, 16; Israel, 11; Leah, 8; and Jonah, 5.

Next is Jacob Bucher, 43, farmer, real estate valued at $8000, is living with wife Francis, 38; Christian, 17, farmer; Nancy, 15; Jacob, 13; Susanna, 11; and daughter Francis, 7; George, 5; Elizabeth, 1; and a Susan Bucher, 48. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania.

Living next is John Greglow, 52, with wife Mary; Jacob Dohner, 35, with wife Elizabeth, 35; and John Dohner, 63.

2. Census in 1860 in S. Lebanon Twp., Lebanon, PA. ⁸ Ezra Bucher, age 42, farmer, is living with wife Elizabeth, 45; John H., 20, farmer; Cyrus S., 14; Christian, 10; Lydia, 5. Also in the home are Jacob Reist, 40, farmer; and Daniel Troukirk, 20, farm laborer. Ezra's real estate is valued at $10,000 and his possessions worth $3,000. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania.

3. Census in 1870 in S. Lebanon Twp., Lebanon, PA. ³ In 1870 in South Lebanon Township, Henry Bucher Sr. and Henry Jr. were living side by side, as neighbors to other Bucher families.

Henry Sr., 72, retired farmer, was with wife Elizabeth, 65; and daughter Lavina, 36. His real estate is worth $4,000 and possessions $600.

Henry Jr., farmer, 34, was with wife Catherine, 24; Monroe, 5; Henry J., 3; Solomon, 2; and Aaron, 4 months, born in April. His real estate was worth $300 and possessions $500.

Also on the page are the households of in-laws Jacob Dohner and Henry Dohner, followed by these Bucher families:

Jacob Bucher Jr., farmer, 32, was with wife Veronica, 30; Horst, 8; Susan, 6; Veronica, 5; Caleb, 4; and Jacob, 1. Also in the home was domestic servant Mary Robbold, 13; and farm laborers Peter Wise, 62; Israel Snyder, 30; and Nathan Lineaweaver, 21. Jacob's home is worth $15,000 and possessions $2,200.

Ezra Bucher, retired farmer, 56, is with wife Elizabeth, 54; and son Christian, farm laborer, 21. His real estate is worth $26,000 and possessions worth $1,000.

John Bucher, farmer, 31, is with wife Rebecca, 24; Samuel, 6; John, 3; and Annie, 10 months, born in Oct. Kate Binner, domestic servant, 15, lived with them. John has no real estate value and his possessions are worth $2,200.

Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. The post office was Cornwall.

4. Census in 1880 in Jackson Twp., Lebanon, PA. ⁹ Christian Bucher, farmer, 30, was with wife Emma, 27; Leonard, 5; Mariah, 3; and Amanda, 2. Also in the home is Emma Sheafer, domestic servant, 31; and farm laborer, Michael Auchenbach, 32. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

5. Census in 1900 in Heidelberg Twp., Lebanon, PA. ⁴ C. R. Bucher, farmer, 50, born Sep 1849, was married for 27 years to Emma, 49, born Jan 1851. She had given birth to 13 children, 10 still living by 1900. In their home: Leonard, teacher, 26, Oct 1873; Amanda, 22, Mar 1878; Sallie, 19, Aug 1880; John, farm laborer, 17; Aug 1882; Emma, 15, Feb 1885; Alvin, 9, Oct 1890; Annie, 7, Apr 1893; Noah, 4, Jan 1896; and Ira, 2, Jun 1897. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

6. Census in 1910 in Heidelberg Twp., Lebanon, PA. ¹⁰ Christian R. Bucher, farmer, 61, was married for 38 years to Emma, 59. She had given birth to 13 children by 1910, and nine were still living then. In their home with them: Amanda, laborer, 33, single; Emma, dairy woman - milk wagon, 25, single; John, farm laborer, 28, single; Alvin, farm laborer, 20, single; Annie, 17; and Noah, 14. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

7. Census in 1920 in Heidelberg Twp., Lebanon, PA. ¹¹ A number of Bucher families appear on the 1920 Census in Heidelberg Township starting on page 31:

Samuel B. Bucher, repairman - trolley company, 56, was living with wife Susan, 51; and son Harry, 17.

Cyrus G. Bucher, 6, grandson, was living with his grandfather, Abraham Kurtz, 74.

Leonard E. Bucher, traveling salesman, 47, was with his daughter Mabel I., 19, single.

Christian R. Bucher, farmer, 70, was with wife Emma R., 68; daughters Amanda, 41, single, and Annie, 26, single; and granddaughter Lizzie, 4.

Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

Christian married Emma Rebecca Kapp, daughter of Leonard Kapp and Maria Mosser, on 19 Sep 1872.¹ (Emma Rebecca Kapp was born on 24 Jan 1851 in , , PA,^{1 4 12} died on 22 May 1928 ¹ and was buried in Reistville: Heidelberg Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Lebanon, PA ¹².)
