Obituary: Pottsville Republican: obituary of Anna Tamkunas on 12 Apr 1979 in Pottsville, Schuylkill, PA. ¹ Mrs. Anna Tamkunas of 249 Middle St., Minersville, died Wednesday at Good Samaritan Hospital where she had been admitted April 5. She had been ill for several years. Mrs. Tamkunas was born in Lithuania, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Stanasauskas, and had lived in Minersville since coming to this country when a young girl. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Rosary Society and the Women's Alliance. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Tamkunas in 1940 and by a brother, John Chernoske. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Beicher, Lebanon, and a brother, Anthony Chernoske with whom she had been living the last several months; two nephews. Services will be held Monday morning from the John Dutcavich Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
