1. Obituary: News Journal: obituary of Harry Kaley Jr. on 5 Apr 2005 in Wilmington, New Castle, DE. ¹ Harry E. Kaley, Jr. "Gigi" Age 81, died Saturday, April 2, 2005 at the Courtland Manor Nursing Home in Dover, DE. Mr. Kaley was a very special and wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He was loved by many. Harry served in the Navy during WWII, and worked as an engineer for 38 years at the Du-Pont Company, retiring in 1981. He was a very respected member of the Fenwick Island Lions Club and enjoyed teaching Defensive Driving courses at Del Tech, Georgetown campus, for many years. Mr. Kaley loved to travel with his wife, take walks along the boardwalk, taking his grandchildren fishing and crabbing and also lovedto work in his workshop building things. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Helen L. Kaley, in 2002. He is survived by his son, John M. Kaley of New Castle; his daughter and husband, Barbara K. and George Laramore, of Middletown, DE; his brother and wife, Robert C. and Nancy Kaley of Landisville, PA; 3 grandchildren, John Gray Staib and wife, Michelle, Nicole L. Staib, and Christopher R. Staib; 4 great grandchildren, Victoria, Jordan, Taylor, and Hailey; and many cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, April 7, 2005 at the MCCRERY MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy., at Duncan Road, where friends may call after 11:00 am. The Kaley family would like to give special thanks to all the staff at Courtland Manor for all their caring and loving support and to the DE Hospice in Dover.
