1. Census in 1850 in Alexandria, Huntingdon, PA. 9 C. Bucher, merchant, 75, is living with wife H. Bucher,70 and daughter E. Bucher, 40. Also in the home are C. Hatfield, 33, female; C. Hatfield, 8, male; and E. Conely, 16, female. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania. Conrad's real estate is valued at $36,700.

2. Census in 1860 in Alexandria, Huntingdon, PA. 5 Hannah Bucher, age 80, is living with daughter Eliza, 54. Hannah's estate is valued at $15,000 for possessions with no real estate, and Eliza's at $4000 for possessions plus $8000 in real estate. Also living with them is Caroline Hatfield, 46; Charles Hatfield, 18, student; and Susan Isenburg, 23, domestic.

Next door is presumed to be Hannah's son, George C. Bucher, age 38, merchant. His estate is valued at $6,400 in real estate and $3,500 in possessions. With him is wife Susan, 37; John, 13; Hannah, 10; Amie, 8; Eliza, 6; Mary, 4; and George, 1.
