ADVANCE - Miss Dorothy Lou Seaford became the bride of Norman Kent Woodward at 3 p.m. yesterday at Fork Baptist Church. The Rev. Roy V. Young officiated.
Mrs. Woodward is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Seaford. She attended Lees-McRae College where she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa sorority. She made her debut at the Sub-Debutante Ball in Lexington in 1965. She is employed by the Housing Authority of Winston-Salem. Mr. Woodward is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Alexander Woodward of Cooleemee. He is a graduate of Davie County High School and is a third class petty officer in the Navy. He is stationed at Corpus Christi, Texas. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of Italian silk and Alencon lace. It had a train. Her veil was attached to a crown of pearls. She carried a bouquet of carnations and English holly. Mrs. Henry Hendrix of Clemmons, the bride's sister, was honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Mrs. James Simerson of Churchland, the bridegroom's sister; and Miss Kay Seaford of Mocksville. Charm Tussey of Lexington was flower girl. Herbert Alexander Woodward Jr. of Cooleemee, the bridegroom's brother, was best man. Ushers were Henry Hendrix of Clemmons, Nelson Jones of Mocksville, James Simerson of Churchland and Terry Gibson of Kannapolis. The couple honeymooned in eastern North Carolina and in Georgia.
