Noted events in his life were:
1. He signed a will on 19 Mar 1876 in Cumberland Twp., Adams, PA. 3 I Samuel Wintrode of Cumberland Township Adams County Pa. Being of sound mind memory and understanding do make and publish this as and for my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all wills by me heretofore at any time made. It is my will that all my just debts & funeral expenses shall be paid out of the first money that shall come into the hands of my hereinafter named Executor. Item first, I will my son Wm. Samuel Wintrode five Dollars, Item I will that the balance of my Estate real personal & mixed, shall be divided equally amongst the rest of my children: Edward Clinton, Sarah Louise, Eliza Ann, Harriet Elizabeth, Maria Catherine and Laura Jane, ( six of them ) share and share alike. Item, the share of Maria Catharine shall be paid by my Executor to her children when they become of age, and should Laura Jane marry Peter Fraver ( the young man paying attention to her ), it is my will her Laura Jane's share of my Estate shall be equally divided among the other five of my children, except five Dollars, which shall be paid to her. Provided further that Margaret Beecher shall be kept her life time out of my estate, share and share alike, out of the shares that are willed equal and lastly. I hereby nominate and appoint Henry H. Jacobs executor of this my last will and testament giving and granting unto him full power and power to convey by deed or otherwise all my Estate, real personal or owned as well and fully as I myself could have done in my lifetime and authority to give for acquittances for all debts due me that may become due to me.
