Obituary: Easton Argus: obituary of George Steckel on 10 Aug 1912 in Easton, Northampton, PA. 3 George Steckel, aged 84 years, a resident of Easton for the last forty years, died this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emma Zeller, of Green's Bridge, Phillipsburg, who he had been visiting. He had not been in good health for some time, but his death was very unexpected.

He is survived by the following children: Frantz of Catasauqua; Wilson, of Easton; George, of Easton and John and Irvin, of Williams township; Mrs. Emma Zellers, Mrs. Wilson Woodring, of Easton; Mrs. Benjamin Raub, of Williams Twonship; Mrs. George Staments, of Carpentersville; Mrs., Thomas Hineline, of Cedarville, Mrs. Ira Illick, of Island Park, and Mrs. Howard Benner, of Williams township. Also by two brothers, William and Theophilis Steckel, of Easton, and by 46 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Lafayette Post, No. 21, G.A.R. The Funeral will be held Tuesday morning at eleven o'clock in the Williams Township Lutheran Church, of which he was a member. Interment will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church.

2. Obituary: Obituary of George F. Streckel on 10 Aug 1912 in Easton, Northampton, PA. George F. Steckel, a well known resident of Williams Township, died at 12:20 this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emma Zellers, Green's Bridge, Phillipsburg, where he gone six weeks ago on a visit and where he was stricken with paralysis.

Mr. Steckel was 84 years, 4 months and 9 days old. In early life he was in the cobblestone business in Raubsville. For several years past he had resided with his daughter, Mrs. Benjamin Raub, of Morgan's Hill.

Mr. Steckel is survived by 12 children, 49 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. The children are: Mrs. Wilson Woodring, Mrs. Thomas Hineline, George Steckel of the South Side; Mrs. Benjamin Raub, Mrs. Howard Benner, John Steckel, Erwin Steckel, Morgan's Hill; Mrs. James Stametz, Carpentersvile; Frank Steckel, Allentown; Wilson Steckel, Easton; Mrs. Ira Illick, Island Park; Mrs. Emma Zellers, Green's Bridge. Two brothers, Theophilis and William Steckel, of Easton, also survive him.

Deceased served in Company F, One Hundred and Fifty-third Regiment, Volunteer Infantry, during the Civil War and was a member of Lafayette Post, No. 217, G.A.R.

Obituary: Allentown Democrat: Died Suddenly on 12 Aug 1912 in Allentown, Lehigh, PA. 4 George Steckel of Morgan's Hill, Williams township, died Saturday at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Emma Zellers, at Green's Bridge, Phillipsburg, where he went to visit six weeks ago. Death was due to paralysis. He was 84 years, 4 months and 9 days old.
A son Frank of the city survives.

George married Lucinda Unangst. (Lucinda Unangst was born on 13 Sep 1835 in Easton, Northampton, PA,5 died on 15 Aug 1906 in Easton, Northampton, PA 5 and was buried in Williams Township: St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Northampton, PA, USA 5.)
