Of 616 East Caroline Ave., died at his home 9:15 A. M. Sunday. He was born at Boalsburg, Pa., Jan. 31, 1881 the son of Robert and Clara (Smith) Gunsalus. He was married to Rose Stiver, Dec. 21, 1903, in Altoona.
He leaves a wife, four daughters and one son; Mrs. Cora Thomas, Duquesne, Pa.; Mrs. Clara Pensyl of Cleveland and Mrs. Catherine Easkins and Mrs. Hazel Beecher, both of Altoona; Elwood of Baltimore; six sisters and five brothers, Mrs. Cecilia Ross, and Mrs. Mary Forsht, both of Washington, D. C.; Mrs. William Dahl of Sinking Valley; Mrs. Amelia Fletcher, of Mill Creek, Pa.; Miles and George H., of Altoona; Mrs. Edith Lane of Brownsville, N. J.; Louis R. Charles; of Altoona; Mrs. Catherine Rowan, of Altoona, Robert of Lake Helen, Fla., and ten grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He was a member of the Salem Reformed church, the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, and the PRR retired men's association. He was employed as a brakeman on the PRR, and retired Dec. 1, 1947 after 48 years of service.
Friends will be received at the Books Funeral home after 7 P.M. Monday.


William married Rose May Stiver on 21 Dec 1903 in Altoona, Blair, PA.1 2 (Rose May Stiver was born on 10 Mar 1886 in Spruce Creek, Huntingdon, PA,7 died on 26 Jan 1971 in Altoona, Blair, PA 7 and was buried in Altoona: Rose Hill Cemetery, Blair, PA 7.)
