She owned and operated a grocery store in St. Louis Crossing for 15 years. She was a correspondent for St. Louis Crossing in the Hope Star Journal newspaper. She was a member of the Church of the Redeemed, Shelby County, and a member of the St. Louis Crossing Community Center.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Norman Funeral Home, Hubert Walker officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday. Burial will be at Andrews Cemetery north of St. Louis Crossing.

Memorials may be made to the St. Louis Crossing Community Center and the Church of the Redeemed.

She was born in Bartholomew County on Feb. 22, 1923, the daughter of John G. and Mae Gonce Beeker. She married Arthur E. Andrews, who died Dec. 4, 1969.

Surviving are a daughter, Margaret Kanouse of Edinburgh; three sons, David Andrews of Flat Rock, Richard Andrews of Columbus and Philip Andrews of St. Louis Crossing; three brothers, Glen and Dean Beeker, both of Hope, and Robert Beeker of St. Louis Crossing; two sisters, Jeanette Hawkins of Hope and Edith Beeker of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters.


Martha married Arthur E. Andrews, son of Arthur Andrews and Matilda Law, on 10 Aug 1940 in Columbus, Bartholomew, IN. (Arthur E. Andrews was born on 7 Jun 1915 in , Bartholomew, IN,4 7 died on 4 Dec 1969 in Shelbyville, Shelby, IN 4 6 7 and was buried on 7 Dec 1969 in Hope: Spaugh Cemetery, Bartholomew, IN 7.)
