5. Obituary: Columbus Republic: Lewis Beeker Stricken on 23 Jun 1960 in Columbus, Bartholomew, IN. 7 Lewis Beeker, 84, retired farmer formerly of St. Louis Crossing died at 7 o'clock Wednesday night. Mr. Beeker died at his home on Orange street in Indianapolis after being in ill health four years and seriously ill the past two weeks.
He was born at St. Louis Crossing May 11, 1876, the son of Frederick and Natalie Beeker. He lived at St. Louis Crossing most of his life.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Norman funeral home in Hope conducted by the Rev. Ray Bozell. Burial will be at Garland Brook cemetery. The casket will be open at the Robert Sterling funeral home, 1422 Prospect street in Indianapolis from 3 o'clock Friday afternoon to 10 o'clock Friday night. The casket will also be open at the Norman funeral home from 10 o'clock Saturday morning until time of services.
Mr. Beeker is survived by his wife Anna Beeker, Indianapolis, three sons, Lee Beeker, Toledo, Ohio, Charles Beeker, St. Louiis Crossing, Harry Beeker, Indianapolis; two daughters Mrs. Elsie Conover, Flat Rock, Mrs. Maxine Andrews, San Diego, Calif., a sister Mrs. Anna Dinkins, Hope, and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A daughter Mrs. Tressie Ott, one brother, two sisters, one step sister and one step brother preceded him in death.

Louis Beeker, 84, was the genial patriarch of his family. His interest in his family's welfare was constant and deep. His counsel, when sought, was good. He never ordered his family about, but he was always ready with a needed suggestion. Mr. Beeker died Wednesday night in his home, 936 N. Orange. Born near Hope, in Bartholomew County, Mr. Beeker had lived in Indianapolis since 1941, Most of his life he had been a farmer. But years ago, he and a brother-in-law owned and operated a butcher and grocery shop in West Indianapolis. For many years he had a small repair shop, where he mended motors of cars and farm equipment. Formerly Mr. Beeker was a member of the Methodist Church at St. Louis Crossing Mr. Beeker was married four times. His first wife, Nellie Wooley, Hope, died .56 years ago. His second, Clara Helt, Columbus, died in 1908. His third, Mary Jones Sherman, Fortville, died 27 years ago. Survivors are the fourth wife, Anna" Beeker; three sons, Lee Beeker, Dayton, 0.; Charles Beeker, St. Louis Crossing, and Harry E. Beeker, inaianapolis; two daughters. Elsie Conover, Flat Rock, and Maxine Andrew, in California; a sister, Anna Dinkens, Hope, ana two stepdaughters, Hilda Hubble and Mrs. Henry Brun-ning. Friends may call tonight at Robert W. Stirling Funeral Home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow in the Norman Funeral Home at Hope, with burial in Garland Brook Cemetery.
