2. Census in 1860 in Greenville, Darke, OH. 11 The 1860 census recorded Jane Rush, 24, born in Indiana, living in the household of her aunt, Sarah Deardoff nee Rush, 50, living with her husband, John Deardoff, 55; and their sons: Isaac, 22; and David, 20. Also in the home is Adaline Kenner, 18; and Mary E. Deardoff, 3. John was born in Maryland, all others in Ohio.

3. Census in 1870 in Tippecanoe Township, Tippecanoe, IN. 12 The 1870 census recorded Norssman Becker [indexed wrong due to poor handwriting], farmer, 28, living with wife Mary Jane, 30; sons Frank Ellsworth, 3, and George L. Beeker, 9 months, born in November. Also in the home is William VanCamp, 23. Everyone was born in Indiana. Norssman's real estate was valued at $1000 and personal estate $600.

4. Census in 1880 in Tippecanoe Township, Tippecanoe, IN. 13 The 1880 census records 4 Beeker households as neighbors.

Hannah Beeker, 41, was living with daughter Eldira, 20; son John, 18; daughter Lilla J., 13; and two orphans: Theadora Emily, 8; and Charles Baily, 14. Also in the home is Charles Beeker, farmer, 24. Hannah was born in Ohio and her parents in Pennsylvania. Her children were born in Pennsylvania, their father in Ohio.

Henry and Rachel (Douglas) Rush, both of whom were natives of Ohio became the parents of nine children, seven of them still being alive, namely. Eliza, the widow of Alexander McLucas, who now lives at Dayton, Indiana; Mary Jane, who became the wife of Narcemus Beeker, of Battle Ground; John W., of Carroll county, Indiana; James A., of Otterbein, Indiana; William, our subject; Harvey, of Dayton; and George W., of Idaville, this state. The father was a farmer and came from Ohio to Cass county, Indiana, in 1829, and located there for a number of years in Clay township, where all but the two eldest children were born. He moved from Cass county, this state, to Jasper county, Missouri, in 1859, and when the war broke out he returned to Tippecanoe county, locating near Battle Ground in Tippecanoe township, where he resided until his death in 1873, in the sixty-eighth year of his age. His wife died May 15, 1865 [research note - her tombstone has May 22]. [see father for full Rush biography].

Census in 1900 in Tippecanoe Township, Tippecanoe, IN. 14 The 1900 census recorded Norsemus Beeker, farmer, 58, born Dec 1841, living with wife Mary J., 62, May 1837, and son Clyde R., barber, 20, May 1879. All were born in Indiana. Nosemus' father was born in Ohio and mother in Virginia. Mary's parents were from Ohio. Clyde's father was born in Indiana and mother in Ohio. The parents were married for 30 years and Mary had birthed 6 children, 3 alive in 1900.
