Everyone was born in Indiana except Hannah in Ohio. Samuel's real estate was valued at $7500 and personal estate $1400. Their post office was Chauncey, a village which today is part of West Lafayette.

2. Census in 1880 in Tippecanoe Township, Tippecanoe, IN. 7 The 1880 census records 4 Beeker households as neighbors.

Hannah Beeker, 41, was living with daughter Eldira, 20; son John, 18; daughter Lilla J., 13; and two orphans: Theadora Emily, 8; and Charles Baily, 14. Also in the home is Charles Beeker, farmer, 24. John L. Beeker, 73, of Lafayette Route 1, member of a pioneer Tippecanoe county family, died suddenly at St. Elizabeth hospital at 3:30 o'clock Tuesday morning. Although he had been in failing health, suffering with heart trouble for several days, he walked into the hospital Monday for a physical examination and died a few hours later. His death came as a shock to his many relatives and friends. Mr. Beeker was born Aug. 24, 1S61, a mile east of Ash Grove, near Battle Ground, and was the son of Samuel and Hannah (Herron) Beeker, who were pioneer Indiana settlers. He was the grandson of John Beeker, who settled in Tippecanoe township in the Pretty Prairie community in 1828. The deceased spent his entire life on the farm where he was born. In 1888 he married Ada Josephine Shigley who died in 1926, and since that time he had lived alone. He was a member of the Battle Ground M. E. church and is survived by two children, Mrs. Morris R. Parks, of West Lafayette, wife of the U. S. commissioner here, and S. T. Beeker, of Columbus, O., chief engineer of the Jefferies Manufacturing company of that city. Two grandchildren also survive. The body was removed to the Bradshaw funeral home.

Neumann. It gives his estate, share and share alike, to his son, Thornton S. Beeker, Columbus, O., and daughter, Mrs. Morris R. Parks, West Lafayette. The will was executed Feb. 19, 1914. Morris R. Parks is attorney for the estate.
